Diese einfache Holzkapelle steht auf einem Steinpfeiler oder Pfahl.
Das Wort Kapelle leitet sich vom lateinischen cappa = Umhang, Diminutiv capella ab und bezieht sich auf den Umhang des Heiligen Martin , Bischof von Tours. Sint Maarten verschenkte seinen halben Umhang an einen armen Mann, der halbe Umhang wurde zu einer Reliquie und der Raum, in dem der Umhang aufbewahrt wurde, wurde metonymisch Capella oder Kapelle genannt. Ab dem 7. Jahrhundert wurde die Kapelle zum Namen für ein (kleines) Gotteshaus.
