Die Gemeinde liegt etwa 9 km südwestlich von Aosta im Valdigne, wie der obere Teil des Aostatals genannt wird, auf der orographisch linken Seite der Dora Baltea auf 775 m s.l.m. Die Nachbargemeinden sind Arvier, La Salle, La Thuile, Saint-Nicolas, Saint-Pierre und Saint-Rhémy-en-Bosses.
Avise besitzt laut Gemeindestatut folgende historisch anerkannte Vedeun, Lo Coudrai, Lo Tomassè, Hèla, Tsarbon – ii, Plan, Lo Prò, Lo Cri, Oveuzo, Runa, La Clluza.
