From altitude 100 we head to Duden Park, named after a German industrialist who owned the site in the 19th century and had a castle built here, which can still be seen today. He bequeathed the property to King Leopold II in 1900, on condition that the park be made public. In terms of buildings, the highlights are the Mosselman Castle (at the bottom of the park) and especially Duden Castle (at the top, built between 1873 and 1875), both in neoclassical style. The park has significant differences in elevation, which is characteristic of the Brussels region, the valley of the Senne and its small tributaries. Watch out for some of the most beautiful ‘remarkable trees’ of the region.
