The yellow death cap (Amanita citrina) is a common mushroom from the genus Amanita. This species is easily confused with the highly toxic green death cap (Amanita phalloides). Therefore, the yellow death cap is also referred to as false death cap in English. This amanita thrives in deciduous and mixed forests, mainly near oaks and beeches. The species occurs on (acidified) sandy soil. However, the greatest danger lies not in the presence of alpha-amanitin, but in the fact that this species can easily be confused with the much more toxic green death cap. Additionally, the species can also be confused with the narcissus amanita (Amanita gemmata).
Since RouteYou currently does not have a specific icon for mushrooms, I will use the symbol for a flower/plant. But as you know, fungi or mushrooms are eukaryotic organisms that form the kingdom of Fungi. They are not the same as plants at all. They stand as organisms between the animal kingdom and the plant kingdom. But if you want real more scientific info about the taxonomy of the biological world, it's best to dive here into this info.
