Panoramic walk around the meander of the Semois in Chassepierre - Le tour de Davia

Chassepierre has been one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia since 2016.

The name comes from two Latin words “Casa Petra” , which means “stone house”. Located in the center of the valley, the village of Chassepierre is built on the cron , a limestone rock eroded by water , specific to the region and bordered by the Semois that runs alongside it at the bottom of the valley.

Possibility to park at the Le Breux playground, just outside the village towards Laiche.

The official start is at St. Martin's Church. The walk is signposted with yellow arrows on a white background, walk no. 19, but this walk deviates from the route to admire the beautiful panorama of the village and its surroundings.

For those who start at the playground, the panoramic walk comes first; who starts at the church ends with the panoramic walk.

Located between the church and the old parsonage le "Trou des fees", a geological phenomenon that, supplemented by human hands, created subterranean cellars.

Just before we cross the Semois there is a beautiful picnic area. We now enter a typical Lorraine landscape. We ascend and at an intersection where we have to turn right there is another rest area with a breathtaking view. We are now on the other side of the meander of the Semois.

We return and at le Soudan we cross the Semois past an old farm with an ode to wine. Here too, a picnic area invites you to enjoy the landscape.

We now arrive in Laiche and pass the birthplace of Jean Marquet. A little further past the old school we are back at the parking lot.
