Roeselare - Wissant - Roeselare

For those who enjoy a challenge, this trip from Roeselare to Wissant is an absolute must.
It's not just a sporting challenge, but the regions crossed are well worth a visit: Heuvelland, Cassel, Clairmarais, Saint-Omer, Côte D'Opale, French Flanders, Watou, Poperinge ... Quiet roads, gentle climbs, beautiful scenery, and delightful descents.
There are plenty of opportunities for refreshments along the way. At the turning point, in Wissant, there is even the option to enjoy a more elaborate meal, which is no unnecessary luxury to embark on the return journey with sufficient reserves. You can skip dessert; you will receive that immediately after the turning point with the climb to Cap Blanc-Nez. When the weather is clear, the view is phenomenal, with the white cliffs of Dover visible in the distance.
The return trip is relatively flat, and as a group, you should manage to maintain a reasonable pace, especially if you're lucky enough to have a tailwind on the way back. The last refreshment stop is planned near the abbey of West-Vleteren, at café "De Vrede". A West-Vleteren of 12° is the ultimate energy drink, which will perfectly prepare you for the last 35 km :).
