Justo al norte del embalse se encuentra Romkerhall, el más pequeño reino del mundo. En el siglo XIX, este fue el terreno de caza del rey Jorge V. Fue él quien mandó construir la cascada Römkerhaller de 60 m de altura. En los años setenta, la zona - de la que se había olvidado - no fue añadida a ningún municipio. Así, el nuevo propietario pudo proclamar Romkerhall en 1988 como el más pequeño reino del mundo y nombrar a la princesa de Sajonia como reina.
