Érétrie est une cité de la Grèce antique, située sur la côte occidentale de l'île d'Eubée, et qui a largement contribué au développement et au rayonnement de la civilisation grecque. Les premières fouilles archéologiques ont eu lieu en 1885 par la société archéologique d'Athènes et l'école américaine. Depuis 1964, elle fait l'objet de recherches archéologiques conduites par l'École suisse d'archéologie en Grèce et de publications dans le cadre de la collection Eretria, Fouilles et Recherches.
