In het noorden van Greenwich zie je van overal de gigantische koepel van de Millennium Dome. Deze staat ook pal op de nulmeridiaan. Het reusachtige complex raakte net op tijd klaar voor de millenniumfestiviteiten, maar de Londenaars en de toeristen lustten de reuzentent niet echt, en de bezoekersaantallen bleven ver onder de verwachtingen. Meermaals moest de regering met vele miljoenen bijspringen om het prestigieuze project van het bankroet te redden. Ondertussen is de regering erin geslaagd de Millennium Dome met grote verliezen te verkopen.
