En visse Arsène Van Damme (senere skulle det vise sig, at dette var et falsk navn for Arsène Goedertier) lejede en skrivemaskine i firmaet Ureel i Gent, som var beliggende på Vlaanderenstraat. Det var en bærbar Royal-skrivemaskine. For dette måtte han give et depositum på 1500 franc. Goedertier brugte sandsynligvis sit falske pas til dette. Senere ville skrivemaskinen blive genfundet på Station Gent Sint-Pieters.
