Kirtorf ist eine Stadt im Norden des mittelhessischen Vogelsbergkreises an der Deutschen Märchenstraße.
Die Stadt liegt an der Gleen, einem Zufluss des Lahn-Nebenflusses Ohm im Nördlichen Vogelsberg-Vorland. Die nördlichen, deutlich höher gelegenen Ortsteile Arnshain, Gleimenhain und Wahlen liegen unmittelbar an der Rhein-Weser-Wasserscheide, sodass manche Fließgewässer im Stadtgebiet auch über Antrift und Wiera zur Schwalm entwässern.
