Kretzschau er en kommune i Burgenlandkreis i Sachsen-Anhalt. Den tilhører Verbandsgemeinde Droyßiger-Zeitzer Forst, som har sin administrationssæde i kommunen Droyßig.
Kretzschau blev første gang nævnt i skriftlige kilder i år 1004, da biskop Hildewart af Zeitz på anmodning fra kong Heinrich II. gav de tidligere Merseburger landsbyer tilbage til biskoppen af Merseburg. Som kompensation modtog Hildewart landsbyerne Croziwa, Gribna og Grodischau. Navnene Croziwa, Krautschonwe, Crotzschow, Kretzschwehe er bevaret i folkemunde den dag i dag. Mange krige og ødelæggende brande førte til store tab af mennesker og materielle værdier. Til sognet Kretzschau hører den indpasted landsby Groitzschen og stedet Näthern.
