Januar 2019 mit Thorigny-sur-le-Mignon und Usseau zur Commune nouvelle Val-du-Mignon zusammengeschlossen. Sie hat seither den Status einer Commune déléguée. Die Gemeinde Priaires gehörte zum Arrondissement Niort und zum Kanton Mignon-et-Boutonne .
