Der Berg hat einen Kalksteincharakter und ist hauptsächlich von felsiger Vegetation besiedelt, während sich auf dem Gipfel in der Nähe des Heiligtums ein Kiefernwald etabliert hat.
Auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Sciacca , der Stadt der Thermen, auf dem Monte San Calogero oder Monte Kronio präsentiert sich das Reservat als ein System natürlicher unterirdischer Höhlen: Stufe di S. Calogero, Grotta di Lebbroso, Grotta di Mastro, Grotta Cucchiara und Grotta Gallo.
