Rions est une commune du Sud-Ouest de la France, située dans le département de la Gironde, en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine.Située sur la rive droite de la Garonne entre Cadillac et Langoiran dans la zone AOC des premières côtes de Bordeaux, la commune, qui fait partie de l'aire urbaine de Bordeaux, se trouve à 30 km au sud-est de Bordeaux, chef-lieu du département, à 17 km au nord-ouest de Langon, chef-lieu d'arrondissement et à 4,5 km au nord-ouest de Cadillac, chef-lieu de canton.
