Der Graue Stein ist ein Findling, der bereits im Mittelalter als Grenzstein an dem Punkt der fünf Dörfer verwendet wurde, wo die ehemaligen Gemeinden Heusden, Zolder, Koersel, Houthalen und Helchteren aufeinandertrafen. Der Stein ist ein Block von etwa anderthalb Metern Höhe und mehreren Tonnen schwer, der vor ungefähr einer halben Million Jahren von einem Vorläufer der heutigen Maas aus dem Süden hergebracht wurde. Der Stein steht am Rand des militärischen Geländes, nördlich der Halde von Zolder, und südöstlich von Koersels Kapelleke. Sowohl auf dem Gebiet von Heusden-Zolder als auch auf dem Gebiet von Koersel-Beringen führt ein „Weg zum Grauen Stein“ dorthin.
