Le Eeltjemeer est un lac d'environ 100 hectares, au sud-ouest du village de Rinsumageest dans la commune de Dantumadeel dans la province néerlandaise de Frise. En 1961, un permis d'extraction a été délivré pour l'extraction de sable dans le lac, qui est toujours actif aujourd'hui. En 1997, une zone de loisirs de jour a été créée du côté nord-est avec une plage, des équipements de jeux, un parking et des installations sanitaires. Vous pouvez surfer, naviguer, faire de la voile et nager. En 2011, la concession d'extraction de sable a été agrandie du côté ouest.
