La Grande Fontaine té un cabal molt constant (40-70 l/s) durant tot l'any, independentment de les condicions climàtiques.
La construcció ruïnosa i el fet que el Ruisseau de La Fontaine Saint Hadelin més amunt tingui un cabal molt irregular fa pensar que aquest va ser el rentador fins que el poble es va proveir d' aigua l'any 1952 .
