Solsona és una ciutat i municipi del Principat de Catalunya, capital de la comarca del Solsonès. És situada en l'altiplà del Solsonès, i és envoltada pels municipi d'Olius i de Lladurs. Es troba en la partió dialectal entre català nord-occidental i català central.
Amb una població de 9.137 habitants l'any 2020, és el nucli urbà més important de la comarca i el principal motor econòmic i cultural, així com la seu dels principals estaments i entitats solsonines. Rep el títol de ciutat d'ençà de l'any 1594.
