Riudellots de la Selva és un municipi de la comarca de la Selva que forma part de l'àrea urbana de Girona. Té 13,38 km² d'extensió, ocupa el fons d'una cubeta drenada del riu Onyar, al sector nord de la plana de la Selva i a uns 100 metres d'altura respecte al mar.El riu Onyar és el principal curs fluvial del municipi. A l'entorn de Riudellots, a més, l'Onyar s'adjunta amb la majoria dels seus afluents i subafluents principals: el Gotarra, el Benaula, el Riudevilla, etc.
