Esparreguera és una vila i municipi a la comarca natural del Montserratí, actualment integrada a la comarca del Baix Llobregat. Pertany al partit judicial de Martorell, a l'àmbit funcional metropolità de Barcelona i la seva parròquia s'emmarca dins el bisbat de Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
La vila és a 187 m sobre el nivell del mar; el seu punt més alt és el Turó de la Socarrada, a 518,6 m. d'altitud. El seu terme municipal té una superfície de 27,47 km².
