Xàbia és un municipi del País Valencià situat a la Marina Alta, que presenta dos nuclis de població tradicionals: el nucli històric, amb origen al segle xiv, i Duanes de la Mar . Posteriorment s'hi va afegir, a causa del desenvolupament turístic, un nou nucli de població anomenat l'Arenal, vora la platja del mateix nom, zona que hui representa el principal focus turístic del municipi.
