La Canya és un nucli de població dins la comarca de la Garrotxa repartit entre els municipis de la Vall de Bianya i Sant Joan les Fonts . El 2013 tenia 1.295 habitants, 733 a Sant Joan i 562 a la Vall de Bianya, on és el nucli més habitat. La part de la Vall de Bianya forma un enclavament dins el terme municipal de Sant Joan les Fonts.
