Dorchester és un municipi del Regne Unit, que pertany al comtat de Dorset, al sud d'Anglaterra. És també la capital del comtat. A Dorchester va néixer l'escriptor Thomas Hardy, que va ambientar la seva novel·la The Mayor of Casterbridge en aquesta ciutat. La seva història és molt antiga, els romans la van anomenar Durnovaria. Té la peculiaritat que el duc de Cornualla ha participat i participa en el seu disseny urbanístic, ja que limita amb les seves terres.
