La Grande y Felicísima Armada, denominada sarcàsticament l'Armada Invencible pels anglesos, va ser el nom que va rebre la gran flota que va armar Felip II de Castella el 1588 per a la conquesta d'Anglaterra. La intenció de Felip II amb aquesta flota era envair l'illa, destronar la reina Isabel I, imposar-hi el catolicisme i controlar la política exterior anglesa. El començament de les hostilitats entre Espanya i Anglaterra s'havia produït el 1585 i duraren fins al Tractat de Londres , favorable als interessos de la Monarquia Hispànica. La supremacia marítima espanyola seguiria essent una realitat fins al 1639, amb la derrota de la Batalla de les Dunes.
