Abkhàzia o Abcàsia és una república autodeclarada independent del Caucas, per bé que la comunitat internacional la reconeix com a part de Geòrgia. Es va separar de Geòrgia el 1992, cosa que va donar lloc a una guerra que va acabar el 1993 amb la seva independència de facto.
Abkhàzia té una superfície de 8.600 quilòmetres quadrats i se situa entre el mar Negre i les muntanyes del Caucas. Els rius principals en són el Psou , el Bzip i l'Ingur . Fa frontera amb Rússia i Geòrgia . El 74% del territori són muntanyes.
