Assís és un municipi italià, situat a la regió d'Úmbria i a la província de Perusa. L'any 2007 tenia 26.946 habitants.
Assís es troba al vessant nord occidental del Mont Subasio, en posició moderadament elevada respecte a la Vall Umbra septentrional, això fa que el territori sigui més pla a l'oest i més muntanyenc a l'est. Respecte del nivell del mar es troba a 424 m.
