Torí és una important ciutat industrial del nord-oest d'Itàlia, capital del Piemont, una regió situada majoritàriament a l'oest del riu Po. La població de la ciutat de Torí és de 908.469 persones , cosa que la fa la quarta ciutat d'Itàlia, però la seva àrea metropolitana té un total de devers 1,7 milions d'habitants. La ciutat metropolitana és una de les més grans del país, amb 6.830 km², i una de les més poblades, amb 2.165.619 habitants segons el cens del 2001.
