Bergen ) és una ciutat i municipi de Noruega, capital del comtat de Hordaland i segona ciutat més gran de Noruega amb una població de 254 235 habitants . Bergen és la capital administrativa del comtat de Hordaland. Segons el SSB, l'Oficina d'Estadístiques de Noruega, l'Àrea Metropolitana de Bergen té 383.900 habitants a dia 28 de desembre de 2010.
Bergen està situada en el comtat de Hordaland, a la costa sud-oest de Noruega. És un important centre cultural per a la regió, reconegut no oficialment com la capital de Vestlandet i a vegades també referida com la capital de la costa atlàntica noruega. La ciutat va ser una de les 9 ciutats europees a ser reconegudes amb el títol de Capital Europea de la Cultura l'any 2000.
