Enmig de la pintoresca i bella altiplà del Terreiro dos Evangelistas , sobre una plataforma amb quatre esglaons, es troba la font cridada de les Llàgrimes o de la Dutxa.
L'aigua cristal·lina cau en forma de raig en una palangana i després desemboca a una piscina circular. La font central de la Praça do Evangelismo està inspirada en dues fonts més del proper Monestir de Tibães.
La primera referència a la font decorada del Parc dels Evangelistes data de 1765 , quan Diumenges Fernandes va realitzar algunes obres allà.
La disposició harmoniosa de la font central, rematada pel globus, l'esfera armilar i la creu, remet a l'escut d'armes de Rodrigo de Moura Teles. Aquest escut va pertànyer a un important edifici de confraria del segle XVIII, enderrocat per fer més visible el temple i el parc neoclàssic.
