L'estàtua i la font de Sant Joan haurien, segons l'ordre lògic dels evangelistes, ser les darreres i substituir-les per les de Lluc.
Cal destacar que Sant Joan porta a les mans l'Evangeli , símbol del llibre que va escriure.
Al peu de l'estàtua es troba el missatge en llatí: <<IN PRINCIPE ERAT VERBUM A VERBUM ERAT APUD DEUM, ET GOD ERAT VERBUM», traduït: << Al principi era el Verb, i el Verb era amb Déu, i el Verb era Déu .>>.
Sota la inscripció apareix el cap d'una àliga , ruixant aigua a través del seu bec.
