Salzburg er en by i Østrig og er hovedstaden i den samme navngivne delstat. Kommunen, der også har status som distrikt, har næsten 150.000 indbyggere og er dermed den fjerde største i landet. Byen ligger ved Salzach-floden i Flachgau-regionen nær grænsen til Tyskland. Salzburg er berømt som fødeby for Mozart og afholder om sommeren Salzburger Festspiele.
Den meget besøgte gamle bydel er helt på UNESCO's verdensarvsliste. Den domineres af barokbygninger, herunder domkirken, og af fæstningen Hohensalzburg, en middelalderborg beliggende 120 m over byen. Salzburg har siden slutningen af det ottende århundrede været hovedsæde for et ærkebispedømme, hvis indflydelse strakte sig langt ind i Bayern og Østrig.
