Kartitsch er en østrigsk kommune i distriktet Lienz i delstaten Tyrol med 753 indbyggere. Kommunen ligger i retskredsen Lienz. Kartitsch ligger i den tyrolske Gaildal, den højst beliggende af alle Østrig-Tirols dale, mellem udspringet til Pustertal og den 1525 m høje Kartitscher Sattel. Mod øst grænser Lesachtal op til. Kommunens område i Kartitsch er omgivet mod nord af de vestlige udkystområder af Lienzer Dolomitterne og mod syd af de Karniske Alper, hvis bjergkam også udgør statsgrænsen til Italien. Bebyggelsesområdet strækker sig hovedsageligt over terrasser på begge sider af Gailbach.
