Hasselt er hovedstaden og den største by i den belgiske provins Limburg og har mere end 79.000 indbyggere, som kaldes Hasselaren. Derfor er det målt på indbyggertal den mindste provinsby i Flandern. Byen er sæde for bispedømmet Hasselt og også hovedby i valgkredsen og de to retskredse Hasselt. Hasselt ligger ved Albertkanaalen og Demer, på grænsen mellem Våde-Haspengouw og Kempen, midt i grænseregionen Flandern-Holland.
