Freden i Gent blev indgået den 24. december 1814 mellem Amerikas Forenede Stater og Det Forenede Kongerige, efter krigen i 1812. Traktaten blev underskrevet i Gent. Du kan finde en mindeplade ved bygningen på Veldstraat, hvor freden blev forhandlet. Den amerikanske delegation blev ledet af John Quincy Adams. Traktaten i Gent blev afsluttet juleaften i 1814.
