Humle og ølproduktion er uadskilleligt forbundet med hinanden. På dette sted lå tidligere bryggeriet Goossens. Bryggeriet eksisterede allerede i det 18. århundrede og forblev aktivt indtil 1928. Den sidste brygger, Camille Goossens, var udover brygger også borgmester i landsbyen.
Under Første Verdenskrig beslaglagde den tyske besætter kobberet fra bryggeriet, herunder bryggekedlerne. Efter en kort genstart blev produktionen endeligt stoppet. Fra 2017 blev det ombygget til Hof Den Tuitelaar.
