Köniz er en statistisk by, men anser sig stadig som en landsby, og en kommune i Bern-Mittelland administrativ distrikt lige på den sydlige grænse til Bern i kantonen Bern i Schweiz. Kommunen Köniz som en enkelt bosættelse ville tilhøre de 15 mest folkerige byer i Schweiz. Det er også en del af den større agglomeration Bern med omkring 400.000 indbyggere.
Det officielle sprog i Köniz er tysk, men det primære talte sprog er den lokale variant af det alemanniske schweiziske tyske dialekt.
