Mellingen er en kommune i syd for Landkreis Weimarer Land og en del af forvaltningsfællesskabet Mellingen. Bydele er Mellingen og Köttendorf.
Byen Mellingen deles i en bydel til højre for Ilm med sognekirken og en til venstre for Ilm, en udvidelse fra højmiddelalderen. I Mellingen munder Magdel ud i Ilm.
