Hallenberg er en landsby i Rothaargebirge og tilhører Hochsauerlandkreis i Nordrhein-Westfalen. Den er den - målt efter indbyggertal - mindste vestfalske kommune samt efter Heimbach den næstmindste by i delstaten Nordrhein-Westfalen. Hallenberg blev grundlagt af Kölner Erzbischof Konrad von Hochstaden som grænsefæstning og var indtil langt ind i det 20. århundrede en landbrugsby. Dette ændrede sig først for nylig med etableringen af erhvervslivet og væksten af turismen.
