Dornum er en kommune i Ostfriesland og tilhører Landkreis Aurich i Niedersachsen. Den er opkaldt efter den med samme navn hovedby. Med 4457 indbyggere er den den mindste enhedskommune på fastlandet i Landkreis Aurich.
Bydelen Nesse er en af de ældste Wik-bosætninger i Ostfriesland og dateres tilbage til det 9. århundrede. Ligesom i Emden, Groothusen og Grimersum fandt der tidligt søhandel sted der. Nesse mistede ligesom Groothusen og Grimersum denne betydning på grund af tilsandning af havnen og digebygning. Dornum var fra senmiddelalderen til moderne tid en herlighed, sidst under friherrerne von Closter.
