Brühl er en mellemstor by i Rhein-Erft-Kreis i Nordrhein-Westfalen og en del af metropolregionen Rhein-Ruhr, et beboelsesområde med næsten ti millioner indbyggere. Med de til verdensarv erklærede slotte Augustusburg og Falkenlust, vandslottene Schallenburg, villasølandskaberne inden for Kottenforst samt forlystelsesparken Phantasialand er den et af de vigtigste turistmål i Rheinland. Gennem sine adskillige højskoler, museer, kunstgallerier, kommunale myndigheder og producerende virksomheder udgør den tidligere kurfyrstlige residens desuden et vigtigt regionalt centrum mellem Köln og Bonn.
