Mossautal er en kommune i Odenwald med status som en statsgodkendt ferieby og ligger i den sydhessiske Odenwaldkreis på en højde af 300 til 500 meter over havet. Den består af byerne Güttersbach, Hiltersklingen, Hüttenthal samt Ober- og Unter-Mossau.
Nibelungenstraße berører Mossautal mod nord, mens Siegfriedstraße fører gennem kommunen mod syd. Det omkringliggende landskab bruges også som feriemål i Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald ved Marbach-staudæmningen, den største stillestående vandmasse i Odenwald.
