Byen Werlte er administrationssædet for samkommune Werlte i det nordøstlige Emsland i Niedersachsen.
Werlte ligger et par kilometer øst for Hümmlings, en geestrække i Emsland. I nærheden af byen findes kildområderne for Nordradde og Loruper Beeke mod vest samt Mittelradde og Marka mod øst. Disse vandløb tilhører oplandet til Ems, som flyder 25 km vest for Werlte og 10 km vest for Hümmlings. Hase, en anden biflod til Ems, løber 16 km længere mod syd.
