Hügelsheim kalder sig selv Spargeldorf. Der er en toårig Spargelfest i juni. Det delte byvåben viser til venstre våbnet for Herrerne af Geroldseck og til højre attributten for den hellige Laurentius af Rom, skytshelgen for Hügelsheim. Hügelsheim tilhørte i middelalderen herrerne af Windeck, som havde det som len fra herrerne af Geroldseck.
