Kommunen Unterspreewald ligger i Landkreis Dahme-Spreewald i Brandenburg. Den administreres af Amt Unterspreewald.
Leibsch, Neu Lübbenau og Neuendorf am See har siden 1816 været en del af Kreis Beeskow-Storkow i provinsen Brandenburg og fra 1952 til Kreis Lübben i DDR-distriktet Cottbus. Siden 1993 har byerne ligget i den brandenburgiske Landkreis Dahme-Spreewald.
