Neuruppin er hovedstaden i Landkreis Ostprignitz-Ruppin i den nordlige del af delstaten Brandenburg. Den er det traditionelle centrum for Ruppiner Land. Til minde om den herfødte digter Theodor Fontane bærer den tilnavnet Fontanestadt. Neuruppin betragtes til tider som "den preussiske af alle preussiske byer."
Neuruppin er en af de største byer i Tyskland i forhold til areal. Byen Neuruppin, 60 km nordvest for Berlin i Landkreis Ostprignitz-Ruppin, består i syd af de bydele, der ligger ved bredden af den Ruppiner Sø, der gennemstrømmes af Rhin, herunder selve kernebyen Neuruppin og Alt Ruppin. I nord strækker den sig over Ruppiner Schweiz til den øvrige Wittstock-Ruppiner Heide, som delvist blev anvendt militært som træningsområde Wittstock.
