Wiehl ligger cirka 41 km øst for Köln i lige linje. Byen grænser op til nabokommunerne Gummersbach, Reichshof, Nümbrecht, Much og Engelskirchen. Mellem motorvejen A4 og Wiehl ligger det største erhvervsområde i Wiehl med cirka 81 ha: Wiehl-Bomig. Den samme flod, Wiehl, flyder i øst-vestlig retning gennem byen.
