Marsberg er en by i den nordøstligste del af Sauerland, Hochsauerlandkreis. Den opstod i sin nuværende form i 1975 som følge af den kommunale omstrukturering i Nordrhein-Westfalen fra Obermarsberg og Niedermarsberg samt andre indtil da selvstændige kommuner.
I Obermarsberg skulle Irminsul have været det vigtigste helligdom for saksere på Eresburg. Efter dens ødelæggelse af Karl den Store opstod der på dette sted et af de ældste klostre i Westfalen, som senere blev en del af klosteret Corvey. Niedermarsberg udviklede sig til en handelsby, men var politisk afhængig af Obermarsberg. Betydelig var minedriften og forarbejdningen af malme i området siden det tidlige middelalder.
