Schonach i Schwarzwald er en kommune i den midterste del af Schwarzwald i det nordvestlige Schwarzwald-Baar-kreds. Luftkurbyen er også kendt som et center for vintersport.
Schonach ligger nordøst for Freiburg im Breisgau, cirka fem kilometer fra Triberg i en højdal, der har en forbindelse til det nærliggende Elztal i Landkreis Emmendingen. Mod nord grænser byen op til Ortenaukreis. De tre distrikter mødes ved Dreikreiseck, et startsted for paraglidere, som tilbyder udsigt over den nederste Kinzigtal, Oberrheinebene ved Offenburg og ved klart vejr til Vogeserne. På området i Schonach danner en sekundær top af Rohrhardsberget nær Griesbacher Eck på Farnberg-plateauet med 1.163 m højde den højeste punkt i Schwarzwald-Baar-kredsen.
