Kirken i Rysum er begravet på toppen af en lille bakke. Vidste du, at denne kirke har det ældste spillige kirkeorgel i nordvest Europa, som stadig er næsten i sin oprindelige stand? Kirken stammer delvist fra det 14. århundrede. I det 15. århundrede blev et nyt sognegård bygget, for hvilken tufstenene fra den gamle skib delvist blev genbrugt. Kirketårnet blev renoveret i 1585 og mistede sin spir i 1686. Kirken indeholder en prædikestol fra 1801. Kirkens orgel stammer fra 1457. Ifølge chronikeren Eggerik Beninga blev orgelet betalt af bønderne fra Rysum med deres bedste køer. Det blev sandsynligvis ombygget til et spillegorgel i 1513.
